Mike brings almost two decades of senior commercial and hospitality experience to the ABC Hospitality team, with deep expertise across New Zealand's on-premise sector. His career has spanned sales, business development, concept creation, capital investment, portfolio leadership and venue operations, alongside owning, operating and successfully selling his own hospitality business.
Most recently, Mike led the end-to-end divestment of Lion New Zealand's national hospitality portfolio, a complex, multi-year programme involving commercial negotiations, legal processes and multiple stakeholders.
Having worked across almost every facet of the hospitality industry, Mike understands the opportunities and challenges business owners face. From developing brands and growing hospitality businesses to leading investment decisions and portfolio strategy, he brings a practical, commercial perspective shaped by firsthand experience.
His background gives him a practical understanding of the factors that influence business value and successful transactions. Just as importantly, he understands that decisions about the future of a business are rarely just financial. Working alongside Jeff Wiley and the Hospitality team, Mike is passionate about helping hospitality business owners explore their options and plan for the future.
