The exercise industry continues to grow, with increasing numbers of Kiwis joining gyms each year. With more than 45 gyms in New Zealand, this gym has a strong reputation for being well-priced, with a great presentation that offers high-quality facilities for both strength and cardio training.
The gym currently has a membership in excess of 1,000, which is set to grow thanks to the gym's recent focused efforts to attract and retain new members.
The well-presented gym covers 500 square meters, and was last updated (including repainting of walls) in January of this year. The gym has specialist cardio and strength-training equipment and facilities, including a separate boxing room, a cross-fit cage, a lifting platform, and a 'fitness on demand' (virtual reality exercise) room that includes a full HIIT (high-intensity interval training) area.
The gym is run by an experienced, full-time manager and a part-time assistant. Personal trainers work at the gym on a self-employed basis, which limits costs for the gym. There is currently one personal trainer based at the gym full-time and one based there part-time. Because the presence of high-quality personal trainers increases member retention, management has recently established a private trainer internship programme.
The combination of strong support from the New Zealand franchisor and an experienced, competent manager means the new owner does not necessarily need a background in management or marketing.
